Project Scope:
United Food Bank & Services (UFB&S) provides essential food assistance to more than 40,000 individuals in Eastern Hillsborough County. To expand their reach and improve services, UFB&S partnered with Boggs Design Partners to design a new facility that enhances both operational efficiency and client experience.
The new facility features dedicated office and warehouse spaces designed to meet a wide range of community needs. The office area includes a welcoming, spacious entry where clients are greeted in a cheerful and supportive environment. Inside, a flexible multi-purpose classroom supports computer learning, workforce training, and large group meetings. Adjacent to the classroom is a teaching kitchen where clients can learn essential cooking skills. A retractable ceiling-mounted wall allows these two spaces to seamlessly combine or separate as needed—maximizing both functionality and floor space. A separate four-person computer lab offers additional capacity for smaller classes and one-on-one training.
The warehouse component includes a drive-in cooler and freezer, pallet racking systems, storage shelving, and a dedicated area for staging food boxes for distribution. Recognizing the unique needs of children and seniors, the design also incorporates a specialized area to support these groups more effectively.
Boggs Design Partners is proud to collaborate with United Food Bank & Services in realizing a facility that will deepen their impact and continue their mission of serving the community with compassion and dignity.
